Lyrique
New name, same app. Lyrica is now Lyrique.

Lyrics that move with your music.

A free app for Mac and Windows. Lyrique follows whatever you play in Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube Music and lights up the lyrics word by word: in a window, a floating mini bar, the menu bar, or full screen on your biggest display.

Free and open source · macOS on Apple Silicon and Intel · Windows 10 and 11

Made to be watched

The lyrics are the show.

Everything else fades away until you move the mouse.

Word by word

Each word fills in as it's sung, from word-timed lyrics where they exist and carefully estimated timing where they don't.

Lines up by itself

Lyrique listens for when the singing starts and nudges lyrics into place. Headphones like AirPods get their own delay setting.

Spotify and Apple Music, no setup

Lyrique follows both apps by itself. YouTube Music works through a small browser extension.

Big-screen mode

Send it to any display and press F. Click the artwork for cover view. Play, pause and skip from Lyrique.

Lyrics from everywhere

YouTube Music's own lyrics, LRCLIB and QQ Music. Wrong version? Pick another in a click. Still nothing? Sync it yourself by tapping along.

Speaks your language

English, Español, Français, Português, မြန်မာ, ไทย, 日本語, 한국어, 简体中文 and 繁體中文. Change it any time in Settings.

Easy on the eyes

Text size and fonts, a calmer view with Reduce Motion, and a short tour of what's new after every update.

Free and open source

No account, no ads, no tracking. The code is on GitHub under the GPL.

Press K

Karaoke for the whole room.

Full screen, nothing but the lyrics, big and centred, so everyone can sing from the sofa. Plug in a TV and it's a party.

Karaoke mode: large centred lyrics filling the screen

Duets

Side by side.

When the lyrics say who sings what, the second voice takes the right side and the lines you sing together sit in the middle, like a conversation.

A duet: one singer's lines on the left, the other's on the right

Press T

Sing along in any language.

A second line under each lyric: romanization for Korean, Japanese, Chinese and other scripts, a translation into your language, or both.

Press M

A mini bar that floats over everything.

Working on something else? A slim strip with just the current line, above every window and Space. ⌥⌘L from any app, or put the line in the menu bar.

Install

Ready in a minute.

Spotify and Apple Music work straight away. YouTube Music needs a small browser extension that tells Lyrique what's playing.

  1. Download Lyrique from the latest release: arm64 for Apple Silicon Macs (M1 and later), x64 for Intel Macs. Drag it into Applications.
  2. First launch only: Lyrique isn't notarized by Apple yet. Open it once, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
  3. Play a song in Spotify or Apple Music and click Allow when macOS asks to let Lyrique see it. The lyrics appear right away.
  4. For YouTube Music, add the Lyrique Bridge extension from the Chrome Web Store (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc).
  5. On Windows: get Lyrique from the Microsoft Store. It installs in one click and updates itself. Prefer a direct download? The installer is on the Windows release; it isn't code-signed yet, so if SmartScreen says "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway (see the code signing policy).
  6. Coming from Lyrica? Install Lyrique and open it: your settings and synced lyrics come along. Then drag the old Lyrica app to the Trash.

Private by design

Nothing to sign up for.

No accounts, analytics or ads. The extension talks only to the app on your own computer. Song titles go to lyrics services to find lyrics, and lyric text goes to Google Translate only while romanization or translation is on. Privacy policy.
